MONTCLAIR, NJ - Montclair High School Principal Anthony Grosso has been named Superintendent in Cedar Grove, according to published reports. He was appointed during the June 23 Board meeting.

Grosso is the former Watchung School Principal and was appointed as Principal of Glenfield Middle School for a short stint before being appointed as Principal of Montclair High School following the departure of James Earle in 2018.

"It is with great honor and excitement that I join the Cedar Grove community as your superintendent," said Grosso, during the meeting.

According to his bio, Grosso has been a principal in Montclair for seven years. He has also worked as a principal in Saddle Brook for one year before returning to Montclair. Prior to that, Grosso had been a teacher and assistant principal in the Montclair public schools from 2001 through 2013.

Montclair High School Principal Anthony Grosso was named Cedar Grove's next superintendent at tonight's Board of Education Meeting.  

"Today is a really good day, it's the beginning of our next chapter with our new leader and the board is very excited," said Christine Dye, Cedar Grove Board President.

Grosso, who has no experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent, said that he looks forward to carrying the tradition of the community.

He said, "Cedar Grove has a long standing tradition of academic excellence and dedication to the children of our community.  I look to respect and carry on that tradition, paving the way for new and successful opportunities for our children and staff."
