MONTCLAIR, NJ - Various community organizations are planning on joining the Montclair NAACP's March for Justice on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 3 p.m.
The march is in solidarity with the National NAACP's Justice Summer march from Selma, AL to Washington, DC (http://www.naacp.org/ajfj). The organizers say that they are marching for racial and socioeconomic justice, including voting rights, equitable education and a fair and just legal system for all.
Set to begin at Montclair High School, marchers will walk to the Martin Luther King monument in Nishuane Park, where they will hear from speakers about ways to continue working towards a more just future.
Groups, including BlueWaveNJ, Garden State Equality,Fourth Ward Collaborative, MAAHF and MHS students will join the Montclair NAACP in gathering at Montclair High School at 3:00 p.m. The group will organize and begin marching at 4:00 p.m. and end with a rally at 5:30 p.m. at Nishuane Park.
