O'Dowd added that Gonzalez was subsequently charged with a 2016 motor vehicle theft, saying, "He was also arrested and processed on a Theft of a Motor Vehicle charge from a Lorraine Avenue incident in 2016."

The Montclair Police took this opportunity to once again remind residents to lock vehicles. "We remind all residents to lock their vehicles while unattended. We also advise against storing valuables in the passenger compartment of vehicles," he added.
