Montclair Police Assist Driver Out of Overturned Vehicle

MONTCLAIR, NJ - Montclair Police rushed to the scene to assist a driver after the vehicle overturned near 785 Valley Rd.

The driver attempted to pass another vehicle on the shoulder and lost control of the vehicle as it was traveling south on Valley Rd.

Lt. David O'Dowd of the Montclair Police Department said, "This caused the passing vehicle to strike a pole, snapping it in half. This also caused this vehicle to turn on its side."

First responders assisted the driver out of the passenger side of the vehicle, since it was resting on its door. 

There were no injuries reported.  This was a single car accident.

SOMERVILLE, NJ  - A Manville man has been charged with aggravated assault and other charges after police say he attacked another man with a sword in a dispute over a parking space.
