Montclair Police Blotter: Arrests, Theft and More

MONTCLAIR, NJ - The following blotter has been written and released by Lt. David O'Dowd of the Montclair Police Department on April 26, 2016. 




04-19-2016 (Bloomfield Avenue) Mr. James Fitzgerald, 44yoa from Orange, was arrested on open warrants out of Montclair ($350) and Tinton Falls ($900)

04-19-2016 (Fairfield Street) Ms. Susan Vanzoreon, 60yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with DWI


04-21-2016 (CVS, Valley Road) Ms. Asia Shemo, 28yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with shoplifting numerous personal hygiene items. 


04-24-2016 (Elm Street) Mr. Richard Chinn, 26yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault. This arrest was the result of an investigation into an incident that occurred on 04-23-2016 on Claremont Avenue.  During that incident, a 45yoa Montclair man was assaulted by Mr. Chinn, sustaining facial and head injuries.  He was transported to the hospital for evaluation. 




04-19-2016 (Valley Road) Theft from an unlocked motor vehicle.  A wallet was taken in this incident. 


04-21-2016 (Cross Street) Attempted burglary to a vacant residence.  Entry was gained through the front door.  It is unknown if anything was taken in this incident. 




04-19-2016 (Hawthorne Place)  A large tree fell  and damaged three vehicles.  It also took down a parking lot light pole.  PSE&G responded and addressed the issue. 


04-20-2016 (Claremont Avenue) Vandalism to a motor vehicle.  Unknown person scratched the sides and hood of a 2015 Volkswagen.
