Montclair Police Blotter: Burglary, Arrests, and More

MONTCLAIR, NJ - The following blotter was compiled by Lt. David O'Dowd of the Montclair Police Department and released on 06-14-2016.

Arrest:

06-07-2016 (Orange Road) Mr. Jacob Litchman, 43yoa from Montclair, was arrested on a no-bail warrant out of Orange.  This arrest was the result of a traffic stop.

06-11-2016 (Fulton Street) Mr. Unique Anderson, 24yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with possession of a knife following an altercation in the street.  No injuries were reported. 

06-11-2016 (Acme, Valley Road) Ms. Nakia Melton, 41yoa from Trenton, was arrested for attempting to tender fraudulent currency.  She was also found to have open warrants out of Mercer County Sheriffs, West Long Branch, Ewing, and Hamilton. 

Theft:

06-08-2016 (Bellevue Avenue) Theft of a lawnmower, which had been left unattended on the sidewalk in front of a residence. 

06-08-2016 (Elm Street) Burglary to an unlocked residence.  A bicycle was taken in this incident. 

06-08-2016 (CVS, Claremont Avenue) shoplifting of numerous cosmetic items.  The suspect is described as a light skinned white or Hispanic male, wearing a blue striped button down shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, and dark blue or black ball cap with a white logo.

06-10-2016 (Upper Mountain Avenue) Burglary to an unlocked residence.  A wireless Bluetooth headset was taken. 

06-10-2016 (Bloomfield Avenue) Burglary to an apartment.  Access was gained by pushing in a window air conditioner.  Hair care items were taken in this incident. 

06-11-2016 (Alexander Avenue) Burglary to a residential garage.  A portable generator and various hand tools were taken. 

06-12-2016 (Essex Pool, Chestnut Street) Theft of a pocketbook from an unlocked vehicle.  The pocketbook was later recovered on Montclair Avenue.  A wristlet and various credit cards were taken.

4/11: ARREST FOR NARCOTICS: Officers executed a motor-vehicle stop for an equipment violation in Randolph.
