Montclair Police Investigate Orange Rd. Shooting Incident of 64-Year-Old


MONTCLAIR, NJ - Details have emerged after TAPinto Montclair first reported a shooting incident on Orange Road on Wednesday.

A mystery surrounds the incident where a 64-year-old male victim reported being shot in the arm the night before. No one knows what exactly took place, not even the victim. 

On Wednesday Montclair Police Officials indicate that at approximately 1:54 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Grenada Place on report of the sound of possible shots fired.  Lt. David O'Dowd stated that officers combed the neighborhood, but found no evidence that anything had occurred, "Officers conducted a canvass of the neighboring residences, gaining no additional information."

Then on Wednesday at approximately 10:56 a.m., Montclair Police officers were dispatched to an Orange Road residence on report of shots fired the previous night. 

Montclair Police immediately began investigating the matter after the Montclair man reported that during the night, he believed that he was struck on the arm by a bullet.  After seeing no blood, he went back to sleep. When he awoke on Wednesday morning, he notified the police and was transported to the hospital for examination.

Lt. David O'Dowd of the Montclair Police Department indicated that the injures may have been minor, "He checked his left arm and observed a small welt, but no blood.  When he confirmed that the projectile had not penetrated his skin, he returned to bed without notifying anyone."  

Upon investigation, officers identified bullet holes in the siding of the home as well as a hole in the front window.  

This incident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Montclair Police Department.
