Montclair Police Officers Participate in Read Across America

MONTCLAIR, NJ - In celebration of Dr. Seuss birthday, millions of school children across the nation participate in Read Across America Day on March 2.

Members of the Montclair Police Department’s Community Service Unit (CSU) participated in Read Across America Day at Watchung School. Additionally, Watchung School celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss, and Crazy Hat Day.

Officers read to seven classes throughout the day, officers also fielded questions from the students, and explained how reading is a vital part of police work. The students were very engaged, and asked several questions about life as a police officer.
