Montclair Public Schools Board Meetings to be Televised Live on Public Access and Streamed on the Web

MONTCLAIR, NJ - The Montclair Board of Education (BOE), Montclair Public Schools District and the Montclair Municipal Access Channel announced today a new partnership to broadcast all BOE meetings live on television and the Internet.

Starting on Monday, September 22, viewers will now have the ability to watch proceedings live on FIOS Channel 33 and Comcast Channel 34.  In addition, live streaming will also be available at

“Whether at work, commuting, or taking care of their kids, all parents have a right to know what is going on in their schools,” stated BOE President David Deutsch.  “Simply put, the actions we have implemented are a long time coming and hopefully will create greater level of engagement and transparency for the community. I want to thank Superintendent Penny MacCormack for working with all the necessary people within the township to make this happen.”

“Utilizing innovation is a resource for our classrooms, teachers and our parents,” stated MacCormack.”  “By broadcasting our Board meetings live on television and online, parents will now be able to view our reports, presentations and discussions at home, on their computers and mobile phone as it happens.  Not everyone in the district has the ability to attend our Board meetings in person, and it is our hope that this new partnership will be a service to all our parents.”

“Although the Montclair Township Broadcast Center has been established for years, we have not been broadcasting our BOE meetings live or with consistency,” stated Sharon Colucci, Montclair Station Manager.  “Superintendent MacCormack strongly believed this needed to change and worked with me and people in the community to figure out a simple solution. This is a great partnership, and we are so thrilled to make this a priority for our community. I hope other township organizations utilize the Broadcast Center as a resource, and we are looking forward to continuing to serve the community.”
