Montclair Recreation Announces Programs for Fall-Winter 2014-15

Montclair Recreation is offering the following programs for Fall-Winter 2014-15.

Fee: $75 Space is Limited
Hillside School
Mondays; October 19 - December 7
Grade K: 1: 4:15-5:15 p.m.
Grades 2-3: 5:15-6:15 p.m.

Grades 3-8
Fee: $100 Space is Limited
Beginners 6-7p.m. & Advanced 7-8 p.m. 
Monday and Thursday Evenings; November 17 – March 7
Montclair High School Wrestling Room 
Our wrestling program is designed for boys and girls in grades 3-8 to learn techniques of match play to prepare for participation in wrestling matches.
* Please note if your child is selected to participate in the suburban travel league there will be an additional $35.00 fee.

Learn & Play Basketball 
Grades 2 - 5
Fee: $75 
PLEASE NOTE: Registration ends when program is full. No Exceptions. 
Learn & Play is a program for Boys & Girls grades 2-5 to learn basketball technique through drills and game play. The first half is instruction followed by games beginning in December until February.
Grade 2: November 17 - Charles Bullock School Gym – 
Monday Nights - 5:30-6:45 p.m. 
Grade 4: November 18 - Glenfield Middle School Gym – 
Tuesday Nights - 5:30-6:45 p.m. 
Grade 3: November 19 - Charles Bullock School Gym -
Wednesday Nights - 5:30-6:45 p.m. 
Grade 5: November 20 - Glenfield Middle School Gym – 
Thursday Nights - 5:30-6:45 p.m. 
Games begin in December, Game times TBA

Fall Track
Grades 4-8
Fee: $50
Woodman Filed on Monday Nights 5:00-6:30 p.m. 
Dates are September 15, 22, 29, October 6, 13, 20, &27
This track program teaches the basic and advanced skills needed for all youth appropriate Track & Field events.

Suburban Girls Volleyball
Grades 7&8
Fee: $75
Montclair High School Gym
Season begins September 22nd and ends October 31st 
Practices/matches will be held two times a week. (Days of the week will be determined by game schedule TBA) Matches will be played home and away against area towns.

In Town Flag Football Co-sponsored by the NFL
Ages 5 – 9
Fee: $85
Kaney Field
Season begins September 15 and ends November Two games a week (Monday – Friday) 6:00-8:00 p.m.
A T-shirt and mouth guard will be provided, please be sure to bring your non-metal cleats.

Chair Yoga Classes for Adults
Ages 18 and older
Fee: $60 (8 weeks)
Edgemont Shelter House in Edgemont Park
September 29 – November 17
Chair Yoga is a gentle form of Yoga that is done sitting in a chair or using the chair for support.

SOMERVILLE, NJ  - A Manville man has been charged with aggravated assault and other charges after police say he attacked another man with a sword in a dispute over a parking space.
