Montclair Recreation: Bulldogs Registration Now Open


Bulldogs Open Registration for the 2016 season


Registration is now open for the Montclair Bulldogs/Recreation Pop Warner season.  we are gearing up for another successful season in North Jersey Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading. The Bulldogs are looking for Boys and Girls ages 5-14 for its football and cheer teams. Registration forms can be found on the Bulldog website  or picked up at the Montclair Recreation office located at, 205 Claremont ave between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm Monday-Friday.

Participants will be required to receive a general physical for the 2016 season from their Doctor before being permitted to play on Aug 1 and are also required to submit a final copy of their 2015-2016 report card with their registration, as pop warner requires all of its participants to maintain a 2.0 GPA in the classroom before being permitting them to play or cheer. Participants will be issued football and cheerleading uniforms and equipment from the program. Participants are responsible for shoes and under garment to complete uniforms.

Bulldog Fee is $150 for ages 5-7 and $175 for ages 8-14. Multiple child discounts (same household) are also available. New for 2016, bring a NEW friend into program and receive registration discount. Inquire within the recreation office. Deadline for registration is August 1.

First day of practice begins on Monday August 1, 6pm at Nishuane Park. The Bulldogs will practice every week day from 6pm-8pm and Saturday mornings 10am-12pm. This is to assure that its participants are physically fit to play before tackling or stunting for cheerleading.

Game season begins weekend of Aug 27-28 and continues through October 16-17. Most games are held Sunday mornings and afternoons. Some games might be subjected to Saturday games during the season. Post season play (if eligible) for both cheer and football begins the following weekend.

Pop Warner is a Weight & age restricted Flag and tackle football league that reduces the risk and realities of injuries.

Pop Warner also mandates is football and cheerleading coaches to receive thorough background checks as well as Heads up and YCADA certification to ensure safety of its participants.

The bulldogs are coming off one of its most successful seasons, where  the mighty mites cheerleading team ages 7-9, performed at the National Cheer Competition at Disney world, in Orlando, FL. Also proud to announce that 5 of its football and cheerleaders, were selected to the National All-Academic team for maintaining a 96% GPA in the classroom during the 20114-2015 schools year
