Montclair Residents Mourn the Loss of Former Councilwoman's Young Son, Terry Lawrence Demming, 5/15/2011 - 7/4/2018

MONTCLAIR, NJ - An outpouring of support has been extended from the Montclair community in support of the family of Terry Lawrence Demming, 5/15/2011 - 7/4/2018. 

The young son of a former Montclair councilperson and Deputy Mayor, Katherine Weller Demming and her husband Vincent, Terry was 7-years-old when he passed away on July 4.

Loved ones have raised more that $24,000 with a GoFundMe page in honor of Demming.

The Go Fund Me page reads: "The family appreciates all of the various acts of love and kindness expressed during this time. In tribute to Terry, a foundation is being established to honor and support the things that he loved."

Terry was going into the second grade at Charles J. Bullock School in Montclair.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Monday and Tuesday, July 10 from 10-11 AM at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montclair.  Funeral services will follow Tuesday at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the Demming family is requesting that contributions be made in Terry’s name to create a foundation that will “support the things he loved most – sports, children and his community.” 

Weller-Demming is also the daughter of retired Montclair Principal, Barbara Weller.

The 1st viewing is on Monday, July 9th from 6pm to 8pm

The 2nd viewing is Tuesday, July 10th at 10am followed by the funeral service at 11am

Interment will follow.
