Montclair TV34 Takes Home Three JAG Awards

MONTCLAIR, NJ – Montclair TV34 Station Manager Rick Gearhart won three Jersey Access Group (JAG) video awards at the organization’s annual conference last Thursday, May 31:

The Senior Bus” PSA won 2018 Outstanding Video Award in the PSA and Promos category.

A Greener Day: Turtle Rescue” won 2018 Outstanding Video Award for Local Events: Non-Profits.

And “Montclair African American Heritage Parade” won the 2018 Video Excellence Award in the Local Events: Parades category.

“Rick has been doing a tremendous job for the Township,” said Acting Township Manager Timothy Stafford. “It’s great to see his work recognized for promoting the best of Montclair and the local area and we look forward to future TV34 projects.”

JAG Video Awards judging was based on six basic criteria: content, technical quality, creativity, “local-centricity,” style, and overall impact. There were a total of 19 competitive categories.

The Jersey Access Group is a professional advisory organization that informs, educates, and recommends in the areas of technology, legislation, and regulation that shape and direct the use of multi-communication platforms for content creators and distributors on behalf of municipalities, educational institutions, and other public media facilities.

CLARK, NJ - Three buses collided in the Arthur L. Johnson High School parking lot around noon on Thursday.   There were students on the buses at the time according to Police Chief Pedro Matos.

Assembly Democratic Bill to Ensure Safety of Special Needs Students on School Buses Clears Assembly Panel 

June 21, 2018

TRENTON, NJ – Legislation sponsored by Assembly Democrats Daniel Benson, Valerie Vainieri Huttle, Reed Gusciora, Ralph Caputo and Andrew Zwicker to protect special needs students who ride school buses was released Monday by an Assembly panel. 

This bill (A-4332) would establish a minimum ratio of school bus aides to special needs students on a school bus.
