Montclair's 'Jazz House Kids' to be Featured on Wonderama, Jan. 29


MONTCLAIR, NJ - Jazz House Kids has announced that some of their students will be featured on the TV show WONDERAMA. This Sunday, January 29 at 6:00 PM EST, tune into Channel 11 in NYC to catch a glimpse of a performance by Jazz House Kids.

 This studio-audience participation show, which has entertained families for over four decades, is back and rebooted, airing in 13 major metro markets, and hosted by David Osmond. Jazz House Kids students and alums taped the show in July 2016.

The Jazz House Kids Wonderama Quintet consists of the following musicians:

Xavier Kuzin - Tenor saxophone

Wes Whitelock - Guitar

Esteban Castro - Piano

Nadiyah Lee - Trumpet

Ian Kenselaar - Bass & Ensemble leader

Fans of the original show may recall the popular "Snake in a Can" game alongside new show elements including "Wonder-mojis," "Cool Science" and "DJ Dance Emergency" featuring DJs Coco and Breezy, whose energetic style and cutting- edge playlists further lend to the show's upbeat atmosphere.

Each one-hour installment combines art, music, dance, film, sports, science, cooking and politics. In addition to PIX11, the other Tribune Broadcasting Stations airing Wonderama include: Dallas/Fort Worth (KDAF); Washington, DC (WDCW); Houston (KIAH); Seattle (KCPQ & KZJO); Miami/Fort Lauderdale (WSFL); Denver (KDVR & KWGN); Portland, OR (KRCW); Hartford/New Haven (WTIC & WCCT); Oklahoma City (KFOR & KAUT); Indianapolis (WXIN, WTTV & WTTV 4.2); Norfolk (WTKR & WGNT) and New Orleans (WGNO & WNOL).

The original "Wonderama"(and its successor, "Kids Are People Too") remains one of the longest-running family television programs in history. The show gave America its first broadcast glimpse of The Jackson 5, hosted Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier's famous Marble Battle and introduced families across the nation to wonders big and small, from music sensations like Elton John, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Abba and Roger Daltry to world-class celebrities including Evel Knievel, Billy Crystal, Jodie Foster, Jerry Lewis, and David Cassidy.
