Although snow has recently fallen, the anticipation for outdoor activities has been building. Early spring offers a plethora of family-friendly events throughout the Northern New Jersey area. With Easter around the corner, many local communities are promoting egg hunts and bunny-themed photo opportunities.

Horseback Easter Egg Hunt

Acres Away Farm in Flemington is giving their own unique spin on traditional Easter egg hunts. While on horseback, children and adults are invited to search the grounds for Easter eggs containing candy and toys. Reservations are required and the event is reoccurring on weekends throughout the month of April.

Easter Egg Sugar Cookie Decorating

The Celebrate Life Studio will be holding a very fun and very edible workshop on April 1st from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. All participants receive a set of delicious freshly-baked sugar cookies shaped into Easter eggs. An instructor will then walk the group through the process of decorating the cookies and provide all the tools required. Attendees are provided with a gift box to bring home their treats. Registration is required.

Wine and Chocolate Tasting

On April 1st at 1:00 pm, Terhune Orchards in Princeton will be giving a presentation on the mouth-watering history of wine and chocolate. Participants will be provided with ten different types of Belgian chocolates alongside a perfectly paired wine selection from the Terhune Orchards vineyard. This is a ticketed event with limited seating available. Tickets can be purchased through the Terhune Orchards website.

Highlands Harvest Backyard Tree Seminar

Early spring is when most people start thinking about their landscaping needs for the coming season. At Chester’s Alstede Farms, a three-hour seminar will delve into caring for both new and old trees alike. Light refreshments will be served and the staff will answer all questions regarding tree care. Register in advance or at the door for the April 1st, 9:30 am seminar

Former Jefferson School Staffer Facing Criminal Charges For Alleged Lewd Photos of Students

Three School Buses Involved in Crash at Clark's ALJ High School

CLARK, NJ - Three buses collided in the Arthur L. Johnson High School parking lot around noon on Thursday.   There were students on the buses at the time according to Police Chief Pedro Matos.

Assembly Democratic Bill to Ensure Safety of Special Needs Students on School Buses Clears Assembly Panel 

June 21, 2018

TRENTON, NJ – Legislation sponsored by Assembly Democrats Daniel Benson, Valerie Vainieri Huttle, Reed Gusciora, Ralph Caputo and Andrew Zwicker to protect special needs students who ride school buses was released Monday by an Assembly panel. 

This bill (A-4332) would establish a minimum ratio of school bus aides to special needs students on a school bus.
