MONTCLAIR, NJ - The Montclair Police Department Community Service Unit (CSU) will host its next “Coffee with a Cop” event on Friday, November 6, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Montclair Bread Company, 113 Walnut Street.

The MPD Mobile Command Vehicle will be at the event -- come say hello and pop in to see the state-of-the-art equipment in the vehicle.

The idea behind “Coffee with a Cop” is to afford the public an opportunity to meet and speak with local law enforcement professionals in an open and friendly atmosphere.

Montclair’s CSU strives to form partnerships with the town's residents and businesses. All too often, the community only interacts with the police in times of crisis. “Coffee with a Cop” is an effort to foster positive relationships with the police.

The program has already proved successful in over 175 police agencies in 36 states. The public may ask questions of the officers or just pop in to meet the person in uniform and say hello over a nice hot cup of coffee.
