NUTLEY, NJ - Nutley Police have determined that a bomb threat made against Nutley High School was a hoax perpetrated by a student.

Nutley Police received information that there was a bomb threat made against the High School. A fast response by the department determined that the posting made by a student was a hoax.

School Administrators, Nutley Police, Essex Prosecutors and Essex Sheriff’s Departments worked together to ensure that there was no threat to anyone or the school at any time.  Police searched the entire school with K-9 and Bomb Techs and deemed the building safe.  Director Alphonse Petracco said any threat is taken very seriously, and anyone making such claims faces prosecution.
