Montclair, New Jersey – Officer Billy Maroulis was sworn in as a full status police officer last week in Township Council Chambers. Officer Maroulis successfully completed his probationary period basic employee indoctrination and underwent a 12-week Field Training Program where he was paired with specially trained, experienced patrol officers. Municipal Clerk Linda Wanat administered the Oath of Office.


Officer Maroulis graduated from William Paterson University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.  He started his law enforcement career in 2014 as a corrections officer with the New Jersey Department of Corrections at the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility.


In January of 2015, Officer Maroulis was hired by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department and attended the Passaic County Police Academy, graduating in September of 2015.  Officer Maroulis was assigned to the courts prior to his hiring as a Montclair Police Officer in 2016.
