Although the OpenStreetsMTC event will be closed to cars, the 4Ward Tour of Montclair will not. This is an unsupported group ride with no ride marshals, no sag wagons, and no closed streets. Participants will be sharing the streets with cars and are required to follow traffic rules to ride on the right, signal stops and turns, be safe, be predictable, and be courteous.

This ride is for adults and teens who are comfortable with street riding and have mastered some basic bike “driving” skills. Come prepared with the basics: helmet that fits, a full water bottle, spare tube, and a charged cell phone. Do an ABC Check (Air, Brakes, Chain) before you come.

Pre-ride Preparation: Get a bike tune-up. Bring bikes that are in good shape. You will be able to make some very minor last-minute adjustments with the help of any of the bike shops who will have tents at OpenStreetsMTC.
