WEST ORANGE, NJ - At Turtle Back Zoo's annual Ground Hog Day event, local celebrity groundhog 'Essex Ed' predicted that Atlanta Falcons would defeat the New England Patriots in this year's Super Bowl.

Essex Ed saw his shadow at the 11 a.m. ceremony, meaning New Jersey residents may be in for six more weeks of winter.

"I prefer warmer weather, so I'm a little disappointed in Essex Ed's prediction. I was really hoping for spring weather to arrive early this year," Essex County Executive Joseph "Joe D." DiVincenzo said.

"It may be cold outside, but it's still a great time to come out and Experience Essex, and our wonderful Turtle Back Zoo and South Mountain Recreation Complex. Waiting for Essex Ed on Groundhog Day creates excitement about Essex County's Turtle Back Zoo and highlights its role as an educational resource," he added.
