MONTCLAIR, NJ -  A community prayer vigil has been planned for June 20 to honor the lives of Rev. Clementa Pinckney and the other 8 victims of the Emmanuel A.M.E. Church in Charleston, South Carolina. 

Set to take place at 2 PM in the Union Baptist Church parking lot, the vigil will be located on the corner of Portland Place and Midland Avenue. All are encouraged to attend.

Among the nine killed by a lone gunman during a Wednesday night church service, were Clementa Pinckney, 41, senior pastor; Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, 45, assistant pastor and Newark native; Tywanza Sanders, 26; Ethel Lance, 70; Susie Jackson, 87; Cynthia Hurd, 54; Myra Thompson, 59; Daniel Simmons Sr., 74; and DePayne Middleton Doctor, 49.

A 21-year-old suspect, Dylann Roof was arrested on Thursday.
