Pull Out Your Bike and Join Tour de Montclair, October 2

MONTCLAIR, NJ - The Tour de Montclair, the Township’s iconic community bike ride, returns this year as a key feature of the Open Streets Festival, which will be held Sunday, October 2 on Glenridge Avenue, Montclair. The Open Streets Festival will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

The Tour de Montclair will open for check-in and registration at 8:30 a.m. with the ride starting promptly at 10:00 a.m.

The Tour de Montclair is a family-friendly bike ride with 6- and 12- mile options. It begins on Glenridge Avenue and takes riders through the Montclair’s four wards, highlighting parts of town not easily seen by car. Riders cruise by the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens, Nishuane Park, the Montclair Art Museum and many other local landmarks. Live bands will provide musical encouragement at six stops along the route.

Riders are invited to enjoy the sights at their own pace -- fast, slow or anywhere in between! The ride ends back at Glenridge Avenue where riders can celebrate at the Open Streets Festival.

Pre-registration for the 2016 Tour de Montclair is strongly suggested and is available at: www.bikewalkmontclair.org. Registration includes a FREE commemorative t-shirt, entrance to the Tour and a one-year membership to Bike&Walk Montclair.

Individual $35 - includes registration for one individual

Family - $45 - includes registration for up to five individuals

Youth/Senior - $25 - includes registration for one individual

The Open Streets Festival is part of a national movement to “open” streets for walking, jogging, bicycling, dancing, and socializing, free from traffic. Montclair’s event will include music, children’s activities, food, sustainability displays and parklets -- mini urban public spaces designed and built in parking spaces.
