MONTCLAIR, NJ - Montclair firefighters responded to report of a gas smell outside of a home on Homewood Way on Monday sometime after 4 p.m. When it was determined that the smell was coming from outside of the home, PSE&G crews were called to assist.

PSE&G spokesperson Brooke Houston Fisher stated that the smell was a result of a leaking service line and the crews replaced the line by Tuesday evening.

"The water company was working there yesterday and uncovered a leaking service line. We responded and determined the line needed to be replaced. Our crew replaced the service line today and the leak is cleared. Our crew is cleaning up the area now," said Fisher.
