We invite you to join S.O.F.I.A. for a candlelight vigil on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm in Crane Park, Montclair, NJ.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month evolved from the first Day of Unity observed in October 1981 by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Domestic violence and financial abuse often go hand-in-hand, but 8 in 10 Americans have not heard about financial abuse as a form of domestic violence. The number one reason domestic violence survivors stay, leave or return to an abusive relationship is that they don't have the financial resources to break free.

Please join us in lighting candles to bring awareness and to promote advocacy against domestic violence.

This event is focused on:
~Remembering our loved ones
~Supporting Survivors
~Promoting unity throughout the community

As we approach the end of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, join the movement to end the cycle of abuse and create a violent free community.
