Shop Local: Veggie Cart Comes to the South End District Every Other Wednesday

MONTCLAIR, NJ - The South End District is beginning to attract more businesses to call the area home and now City Green Veggie Mobile will be at the South End Orange Road parking lot behind Schlaefer Masonry from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. 

It will come to this location every other Wednesday, through November, bringing fresh produce and other healthful foods to Montclair’s South End district on the following dates:


September 7, 21
October 5, 19
November 2, 16

The mobile farm stand accepts SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) cards, WIC (Women, Infants, and Children), SFMNP (Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program) vouchers and cash as payment. The Veggie Mobile will also help stretch families’ dollars:

SFMNP and WIC vouchers will be doubled, up to $10 per customer per day (for example, a $10 voucher is worth $20 at the mobile farm stand).

EBT/SNAP/Families First customers will receive a 50 percent discount on their purchase AND up to $10 in “City Green Bucks” to spend on their next visit to the Veggie Mobile.

In addition, HackensackUMC Mountainside will provide on-site blood pressure and diabetes screenings and nutrition education with healthful recipes from a registered dietitian.
