MONTCLAIR, NJ - For the past month, members of the Montclair Police Department (MPD) collected gloves, scarves, hats and blankets for the homeless.

On Friday, February 3, they delivered those items to the Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless (MESH).

The initiative, called "The Mitten Tree" drive was organized by the MPD in conjunction with the Montclair Municipal Court and Boiling Springs Bank Watchung Avenue location.

The “Mitten Tree” drive, held in Police Headquarters, asked members of the community to donate the items so they could be distributed to those in need during this cold time of year.

MESH is a charitable 501(c) (3) organization that works to address issues of suburban homelessness in and around Montclair, NJ.
