Manville Police received a 911 call Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 10:28 p.m. that an assault had occurred in the area of Knopf Street and North 9th Avenue . When police arrived, they saw a man suffering from several deep lacerations to his head and arm.  The 40-year-old victim also had one of his fingers nearly severed as a result of the assault.

The victim was transported to an area trauma center for emergency treatment and was listed in stable condition.

Razzano was nearby, and he was arrested without incident.

Police say the two men had argued over a parking space, and during the verbal exchange, the victim confronted Razzano with a four-foot aluminum contractor’s level.  The victim is alleged to have struck Razzano with the contractor’s level resulting in several bruises and abrasions to his back, face, arm and leg.

Police say Razzano  retrieved a sword from his truck, and retaliated by slashing the victim several times causing serious bodily injuries to the victim’s head and arm.

Razzano faces charges of  2nd Degree Aggravated Assault, 3rd degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and 4th degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
