MONTCLAIR, NJ – Around 5PM today, there was a single-vehicle accident on Orange Road. 

Witnesses who arrived at the scene after the accident, reported that they overheard the victim saying that the pole snapped off and hit her car while she was driving. Other bystanders informed TAP into Montclair that the pole, which had been snapped off at the base, was newly installed.

There were three passengers in the car with the female driver including an infant, a toddler and a female passenger. The airbag was deployed and the driver, who was responsive, was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Police, EMTs, and firefighters who were at the scene of the accident did not comment.

Sgt. Tyrone Williams took the infant into his arms and comforted the child (pictured above) as the driver was being attended to by the EMTs.  The children and passenger appeared uninjured.
