EAST ORANGE, NJ - Yusef Mayes is a 37-year-old filmmaker from East Orange, New Jersey. He is a graduate of The New School University of New York City, where he studied creative writing. Yucef’s primary focus was poetry and prose during school until being introduced to film equipment while working at a local alternative high school for foster teens. Yucef has been a teen counselor and a program aide for My Brother's Keeper of East Orange. Yucef has had stake in the healing of the black community as a youth advocate. "DRIVER" is one of those films that serves as an advocate for healing in our community.
Rodney Gilbert (actor) is the founder and CEO of Yendor Productions, is an arts organization that consults, develops and produces performing and visual arts programs. Mr.Gilbert has worked in professional theatre for over thirty years,a graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia,where he earned a BFA. An actor, director and producer, his stage, film and television credits include work at Arkansas Rep, New Freedom Theater, Passage Theatre and in Malcolm X,Law and Order, and the Tonight Show to name a few. Mr.Gilbert is an Audelco Award Nominee for best actor in a musical and a member of the Actors Equity Association.
