The Watchung Cooperative Preschool Has Moved.

MONTCLAIR, NJ - The Watchung Cooperative Preschool has moved to the First United Methodist Church on North Fullerton Avenue in Montclair.

After over 40 years, the school has moved from its long time location at the Montclair Heights Reformed Church to its new location at the First United Methodist Church at 24 North Fullerton Avenue in Montclair. Teachers and parents have been working tirelessly to unpack and prepare the classrooms for classes to start on September 15th.

“The classrooms are going to be beautiful,” says school director Christi Porter-Johnson. “We are very excited about the new space. It’s going to be a wonderful place for our children to play and learn.”

The Watchung Co-op is more than just a school, but a community of families that work together to give their children a great foundation for learning. The school encourages learning through hands-on, child-guided play experiences. They emphasize children’s social and emotional well-being and nurture their inherent love of learning.

Grants received from the Montclair Foundation and the Investors Foundation to help with the costs of moving have been very helpful, but the school still needs help to cover the costs of moving the bigger pieces of the playground.

A Go Fund Me site has been established to help raise the $10,000 needed to move this equipment. If you can help, please visit and make a contribution. Any amount would be a big help to the school.

For more information on the Watchung Cooperative Preschool, you can visit or call 973-783-4535.
