MONTCLAIR, NJ - Montclair firefighters rushed to extinguish a fire that started on Valley Rd. and Oakwood Ave. on Friday night.

Breaking news reports stated that the fire began as a transformer fire with wires down and quickly extended to a one story detached garage, sometime around 9:30 p.m.

Montclair fire officials called PSE&G to assist. While waiting for PSE&G officials to assist in cutting off power, the garage became engulfed in flames and crews were unable to put water on the fire due to active power lines being involved.
