MONTCLAIR, NJ- According to the National Weather Service, a total snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches are possible with isolated amounts of 6 inches possible in the higher elevations.

Precipitation overspreading the area between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. will begin as snow.  The snow will be heavy at times with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour between about 4 a.m. and 9 a.m.. The snow tapers off from west to east between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday morning.

Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute on Monday. Expect poor visibilities below one-half mile at times in heavy snow. Road conditions will be highly dependent on snowfall rates and elevation as rates greater than 1 inch per hour and slightly colder temperatures in the hilly terrain will allow for untreated roads to become snow covered.

High temperatures Monday afternoon in the 40s should lead to rapid melting.
