Montclair Police Blotter: Business Burglary, DWI Arrests and More

MONTCLAIR, NJ - The following blotter was released on July 3, 2018 from the Montclair Police Department:

Arrest:
06-28-2018 (Porter Place) Mr. Lonnial Hargrove (48yoa from Irvington) was arrested and charged with
DWI.
06-29-2018 (Bellevue Avenue) Mr. Avi Shvetz, 52yoa from Montclair, was arrested and charged with
DWI after striking a parked vehicle.
06-30-2018 (Lackawanna Plaza) Mr. Maximo Diaz, 55yoa from Montclair, was arrested on open warrants
totaling $6,200.
Burglary/Theft:
06-26-2018 (Orange Road) A resident heard an unknown party moving around inside the home. When
the resident called out, the suspect was heard fleeing the residence. Nothing is reported missing at this
time.
06-26-2018 (Elm Street) Theft of a Suzuki Motorcycle from a residential driveway.
06-27-2018 (Stephen Street) Theft of power tools from the basement of a residence under construction.
06-28-2018 (Lorraine Avenue) Burglary to a residence. A wallet was taken in this incident. No sign of
forced entry.
06-28-2018 (Bloomfield Avenue Hair Braiding) Burglary to a business. Entry was gained by damaging a
front door. It is unknown what was taken at this time.
06-28-2018 (Notting Hill Way) Theft of a 2018 BMWx5 from an unlocked residential garage. The keys
had been left inside this vehicle.
06-29-2018 (Dodd Street) Three unlocked vehicles were rummaged through and a bicycle stolen from
the rear of a residence.
06-29-2018 (Mount Vernon Road) Theft of a bicycle from the front porch of a residence.
06-29-2018 (Dodd Street) A vehicle was rummaged through, but nothing reported missing.
06-29-2018 (Nishuane road) Attempted theft of a Suzuki Quad from a trailer parked in a residential
driveway.

Miscellaneous:
06-29-2018 (Bloomfield Avenue) A vehicle traveling into Glen Ridge was struck by a rock which appeared
to have been thrown by a group of juveniles. A passenger window was damaged in this incident.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Rutgers University Board of Governors today approved a 2.3 percent hike in tuition and fees, as well as increases for dorm rooms and meals, for the 2018-2019 academic year.
