Auditions for "Clark Gable Slept Here"

Nutley Little Theatre Announces Auditions for Comedy “Clark Gable Slept Here” on February 9-10

Nutley Little Theatre has announced auditions for the theatre’s spring production of Clark Gable Slept Here, a riotous farce written by Michael McKeever and directed by Helen Exel of Nutley. They will take place at 7:30 pm on February 9 and 10th at the theater, located at 47 Erie Place in Nutley.

It’s the night of the Golden Globe Awards, and while one of Hollywood’s brightest stars is accepting his Award, his publicity team contemplates what to do about the corpse of a male prostitute found in his room by the hotel maid. As they try to clean up and perform damage control, the plot twists and turns, leading to more hilarity.

The director seeks diverse actors for the following roles:

TRAVIS – Male 20s – A handsome corpse.

ESTELLA – Female 20 – 40 - Spanish/English a must. Requires strong facial and comedic physicality skills to play the “stereotypical” maid.

GAGE HOLLAND – Male 30 – 50 - Hotel manager. Knowledge of Spanish a plus.

JAROD “HILLY” HILLARD – Male 40s- 50s – A manager/agent for the Hollywood stars.

MORGAN WRIGHT – Female 40s – Gorgeous, bold and smart. A Hollywood “fixer.”

For more information, email the director at helenex@verizon.net.

 Performances are scheduled for April 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 & 25 at 8 pm; April 19 & 25 at 2 pm. Opening night will benefit the Bloomfield Animal Shelter.

All performances and auditions are held at the theatre located at 47 Erie Place in the Erie Place Historic District of Nutley. Please confirm all dates by checking our website at www.nutleylittletheatre.com.
