Conference and Resource Fair Promotes Advocacy for Students with Disabilities

Morristown, NJ – The Alliance of Private Special Education Schools in Northern New Jersey announces its 2018 Conference and Resource Fair, “Advocacy in Action”. The event will feature keynote speakers and disability rights advocates, Senator Richard Codey and David Hespe, Esq., former Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Education, among others. Parents, families, educators and service providers who attend will leave with concrete steps and strategies to help them secure needed services and improve outcomes for students with special needs.

The event takes place on Saturday, April 28th at the College of Saint Elizabeth, 2 Convent Road in Morristown from 8:00 am -1:00 pm. The event is offered free of charge. Registration is required: https://alliance2018.eventbrite.com. Educators can earn 4 free CEUs by attending.

Newark Parents Ask State's Highest Court to Hear Suit Against Teacher Layoff Laws

NEWARK, NJ - A group of parents is appealing to the state Supreme Court to hear their case challenging state laws that require newer teachers be laid off first without considering job performance.
