Everyone loves dads—humans, lions, frogs, prairie dogs, and even pelicans! See all these animals snuggle their little ones in this heartwarming picture book that showcases fatherhood in its many forms, and learn some fun facts about animals at the same time.

After the reading, Amber will have a drawing activity. Children will need three pieces of 8.5 x 11 paper and something to draw with, eg pencil, crayons, etc.

Diana Murray grew up in New York City and still lives nearby with her husband, two daughters, and a spiky bearded dragon who loves listening to stories—especially about dinosaurs. Some of Diana’s picture books include Five Fuzzy Chicks, Doris the Bookasaurus, Grimelda: The Very Messy Witch, and City Shapes. Her poems have appeared in magazines including Highlights, High Five, and Spider.

Amber Alvarez was raised in Hawaii and graduated from the Pratt Institute in with a BFA in film. After graduation, Amber went on to work as an artist, designer, and producer for animation, video games, children’s fashion, and theme parks. Wild About Dads is her first illustrated children's book.

You can order copies of Wild about Dads and other books by Diana and Amber from Festival partner Watchung Booksellers:
