Montclair Public Library proudly invites friends and neighbors of the community to the 52nd Annual Harvest Festival of African Culture (and the Library’s 30th year celebrating Kwanzaa).

We are excited to welcome back Mama Yaa, of Pyramyd Dance Company, who will kick off the event with a traditional Kwanzaa libation ceremony at the Ancestral Table and the lighting of the Seven Candles.

University Hospital President Steps Down Amid Scrutiny of Bacterial Infections

NEWARK, NJ - The president of University Hospital announced he will be stepping down as the hospital’s leadership faces intense scrutiny from state and local officials after three babies with a bacterial infection died after receiving care there.  

John Kastanis will officially leave his post as head of the hospital on Dec. 14, according to a statement from the hospital.
