EAST ORANGE, NJ - $50,000 in scholarships and prizes are on the line. Out of 180 applicants worldwide, East Orange STEM Academy High School sophomore, Nyla Cheeseboro is one step closer to winning it all. Nyla has been chosen as one of 10 students to compete in the final round of the Seton Hall's High School Pirates' Pitch business contest.

Nyla successfully submitted her business proposal for Slay Baby Slay, a natural skin care company she launched just a few months ago while a participant in the city’s Virtual SWEP Program. She will be pitching her product to a prominent panel of CEOs and proven entrepreneurs.

“We are thrilled and beyond proud of Nyla and how far she has made it in this competition,” said Mayor Ted R. Green. “The entire city is rooting for her and we will be watching on Friday.”
