Restaurant Week is On: See What West Orange's Eateries Have to Offer

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A total of 23 total restaurants from throughout West Orange are still scheduled to participate in the Downtown West Orange Alliance’s (DWOA) second annual Restaurant Week, which kicks off on Sunday and will wrap up on March 17.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to sample select dishes from a variety of restaurants throughout the community, from casual to fine-dining locations. The event, which is based on the highly successful New York City and Asbury Park restaurant weeks, offers multi-cultural options with something to satisfy everyone’s taste buds.

Here is a list of the various specials being offered during the weeklong event:

  • Bonds Tavern … Buy one burger, second burger 50 percent off;
  • Brown Bear Pub … Buy one burger, second burger free;

  • Due Amici … 20 percent off any check over $40 plus BYOB;

There will also be an opportunity to win $250 in restaurant gift certificates for purchases made during Restaurant Week.

For every purchase made at participating locations, contest participants will accumulate a raffle ticket. Entrants can email a copy of their receipt to Downtown@WestOrange.org. The drawing will be held on Monday, March 19, at noon, and the winner will be notified via Email and posted about on the DWOA Facebook page.

Assembly Democratic Bill to Ensure Safety of Special Needs Students on School Buses Clears Assembly Panel

TRENTON, NJ – Legislation sponsored by Assembly Democrats Daniel Benson, Valerie Vainieri Huttle, Reed Gusciora, Ralph Caputo and Andrew Zwicker to protect special needs students who ride school buses was released Monday by an Assembly panel. 

This bill (A-4332) would establish a minimum ratio of school bus aides to special needs students on a school bus.
