MONTCLAIR, NJ - HOMECorp, the Montclair-based non-profit, will celebrate 30 years of preserving, restoring and building affordable housing for Montclair residents, on Tuesday, October 30.
Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver will come home to her native Essex County to deliver the keynote address at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, NJ, to over 200 guests hailing from the business, arts, nonprofit, financial services, real estate and community development sectors to discuss two platforms that are near and dear to her heart: 1. economic growth and 2. affordability.

Oliver is no stranger to Montclair. In 2003, she was elected to the NJ General Assembly and began her first term in 2004, representing District 34, which includes Montclair, East Orange, Orange, and Clifton, for over a decade.
In addition to the Lt. Governor serving as keynote speaker, HOMECorp will honor the 30 Most Memorable Montclair Moments that have taken place over the past 30 years within the arts, entertainment, retail, fine dining, hospitality, economic development, business and nonprofit sectors, among others. HOMECorp will pay homage to these moments live at its Tuesday, October 30th Anniversary Gala, taking place from 6 pm - 9pm at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, New Jersey.

Examples of Most Memorable Montclair Moments to be honored include:
- HOMECorp acquires first affordable rental property on historic Miller Street (1989)
- Montclair adopts last school into Magnet School System to provide all students with access to the schools best suited for their needs (1997)
- HOMECorp opens its first community garden, Dorothy’s Garden (1995)
- The first LEED Certified commercial building, GreenWorks at 100 Grove Street, is constructed in Montclair (occupancy begins 2009).
- Montclair Film opens (2010) followed by the critically-acclaimed Montclair Film Festival (2011)
- HOMECorp breaks ground on Talbot Village (2015), a six-unit townhome complex (2015) built specifically for low and middle-income homebuyers and closes on the last unit (July 2018).

Scott, Executive Director, Partners for Health Foundation as Community Honoree; William Scott, Co-Chair, Montclair Housing Commission Advocacy Honoree and Chair, Montclair NAACP Housing Committee and Paul Sionas, Principal of Sionas Architecture, Corporate Honoree. Mr. Sionas, a longtime HOMECorp partner, designed the plans for Talbot Village, HOMECorp’s latest affordable housing project of newly constructed townhomes.
