MONTCLAIR, NJ - Family Service League is pleased to announce it has received a continuation grant from the Healthcare Foundation of NJ to expand their crisis intervention services for survivors of sexual violence in Newark.  These funds will enable Family Service League to have a crisis intervention specialist on site at the Shani Baraka Women’s Resource Center in Newark, NJ.

Founded in Montclair in 1881, the mission of Family Service League has remained consistent to support and strengthen those in need in Essex County and surrounding communities through counseling, education, and social services. The programs include the Family Counseling Program and The Sexual Assault and Violence Education Center (SAVE), which is New Jersey’s designated Rape Care Center for Essex County.

“With continued support of The Healthcare Foundation of NJ, we will be able to better serve survivors of sexual violence in the Newark community by providing access to a crisis intervention specialist in a safe and confidential environment.,” stated Christine Ferro-Saxon, Family Service League’s Executive Director.
