MONTCLAIR, NJ - Nearly $10,000 in damages have occurred to the Bellevue Theatre as a result of vandalism, officials announced.

Officers responded to the former Bellevue Theater in Upper Montclair, on a report of a burglary and vandalism that occurred sometime in the past month. The owners of the building stated that they were checking on the property and discovered that an unknown person(s) managed to make entry into the building.

Once inside, they observed graffiti throughout the theater, most of which was unreadable, police officials stated. According to a release, the complainant estimated the damages to be approximately $10,000.
