MONTCLAIR, NJ - A woman was punched in the face while sitting in her car in a driveway on Windemere Road on September 17, Montclair Police officials announced.

The officers are investigating the report made by a 68-yeard-old Bloomfield resident, who reported to police that she was parked in the driveway of a residence when she observed a vehicle park in front of the driveway. An unidentified male then approached her vehicle asking if he was in Montclair and asked her for directions out of town.

After the woman replied to him, the male punched her in the face through the open car window and reached
in to pull the keys from the ignition of her vehicle.

She suffered facial injuries and reported that several keys had detached from the key ring and were stolen by the suspect. The ignition keys remained in the ignition.

The suspect, described as a black male, approximately thirty years old, 5’10” and 160 lbs, then ran back to his vehicle and fled.  

He was last seen wearing a blue-colored hooded sweatshirt and operating tan-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry.
