MONTCLAIR, NJ – Montclair firefighters responded to extinguish two vehicle fires on St. Luke's Place on Saturday. Officials Labeled the blaze as suspicious, in nature.

Sometime around 11:59PM, the Montclair Police responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the area of 7 St. Luke’s Place. Upon arrival, officers found a 2010 Toyota Corolla fully engulfed and a 2014 Range Rover that had fire damage.

The owner of one of the vehicles took to social media to inquire about whether any neighbors may have cameras in the area. If anyone has relevant information, they are encouraged to contact the Montclair Police Department.

In addition to asking for camera footage, the vehicle owner wrote, "Somebody set our car on fire and broke the car parked next to us."

Deputy Chief Robert Duncan stated, "The cause of the fire is suspicious in nature and is under investigation by the MFD and MPD."

Police and fire officials have stated that there is an active investigation between the Montclair Police and Fire departments. As such, no further details are being released at this time.
