MONTCLAIR, NJ - A male trespasser was struck in Montclair sometime around 7:30pm on Monday, in the area just before the Walnut Street Station.
The train was headed toward Lake Hopatcong.
First responders arrived quickly at the scene to assist in lifesaving efforts. Though badly injured, the male was responsive and moving his toes at the scene. He was transported to a hospital.
In an alert at 7:34pm, officials announced that Montclair-Boonton Line Rail Service will be suspended between Bay Street and Watchung Avenue stations in both directions. NJ Transit officials could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.
Around 8:29pm, service resumed and was subject to 60-minute delays in both directions between Bay Street and Watchung Ave. Station, officials announced.
