MONTCLAIR, NJ – The road was not kind to Bloomfield Boys Varsity Basketball as they dropped a pair of SEC Liberty Division games, falling to Montclair Mounties 72-44 on Thursday in Montclair, and losing to Columbia Cougars 53-48 on Tuesday in Maplewood.
 
In the defeated to Montclair, senior forward Will Robinson scored 14 points for the Bengals, senior Michael Ramos had 10 points and senior guard Tochi Anyanwu had 5.
 
For the Mounties, senior Shawn Summers had a game-high 18 points while senior Deshawn Davis had 11.

In the loss to Columbia, Anyanwu scored 13 points and junior guard Vinny Torrisi had 12 for Bloomfield. 
 
For the Cougars, senior guard Dylan Jones scored a game-high 16 points and sophomore guard Nigel Garcia scored 10 points.
 
Bloomfield, losers of their last three games and four of their last five, drop to 7-7 overall and 3-3 in the division.
 
Montclair improves to 8-3 overall and 5-0 in the division, good for first place.  Columbia climbs to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in the division.


 
The Bengals look to get back in the win column when they return to action in a non-division tilt at Pascack Valley High School on Tuesday, January 22 at 6 pm in Hillsdale.  The Indians are 5-7 overall and 4-2 in the Big North Patriot Division.
 
The Bengals then visit Orange High School for a division contest on Thursday, January 24 at 7 pm.  Orange is 3-8 overall and 2-3 in the division.
 
Bloomfield finally returns home after four straight road games next Saturday, January 26, 1 pm against East Orange Campus High School in a division match-up at Bloomfield High School.  East Orange is 4-7 overall and 1-4 in the division.
