MONTVILLE, NJ – School may have just started, but fall is going to be a busy time in Montville Township with many programs going on. Residents can help clean up the township, attend the first Montville Township Day held in many years, or sign up for Recreation Department programs.

Montville Day

It’s been many years since Montville Day was celebrated, but in honor of the township’s 150th, it’s back. Enjoy the music of Eaglemania and Infernos, grab a crab sandwich, an empanada, or some Cajun food while your kids enjoy a bounce house or two. The event will be held at the amphitheater beyond the public library on Sunday, Oct. 15 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

For more information, please click: Shred.

TowacoFest

Sept. 24 will bring ‘round a community tradition, TowacoFest. With bands like AltarNatives, Rusty Monks, and Thunder Hill Country Band, and local favorite Anthony Duke Claus, the music is going to rock on all day. The event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with demonstrations from the Performing Arts Academy Dancers and 3 Tiger Martial Arts, and residents can meet community group representatives, shop for jewelry and honey, and bring their kids out for the rides and petting zoo.

Sept. 11

The Montville Township VFW Post 5481 will be commemorating Sept. 11 with a ceremony on Monday, Sept. 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Freedom Plaza, which is the round plaza behind the Youth Center and next to the VFW Post in the Community Park. All residents are encouraged to attend.

Museum

If you haven’t visited the Montville Township Museum, you can do so during its new fall hours: every second and fourth Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. until noon. The museum is located at 6 Taylortown Road.

Fall Cleanup

If you’d like to help the township sparkle, register your community group for the fall cleanup, to be held Saturday, Oct. 21 at 9:00 a.m. through the township’s Recreation Department. More information is available at Recreation.

See Consignment for details.

The Montville Township Public Library will loan you passes for many museums in New York City and New Jersey for free, including Grounds for Sculpture, Morris Museum, and the Intrepid. See Museum Passes.

Referendum Vote
