MONTVILLE, NJ – Here are some announcements from the township you may have missed.
The township issued a copy of its violation notice that will be given to residents who put their garbage (solid waste) at the curb before 6 p.m. the evening before garbage pickup is to occur.
“The notice of violation is in response to recent complaints about residents putting their solid waste receptacles out too early,” Assistant Township Administrator June Hercek told TAPinto Montville. “Property owners will be mailed a letter from the township administration informing them of our township codes regarding solid waste management and the notification that solid waste receptacles are not to be placed at the curb prior to 6 p.m. the day before the scheduled pickup.”
The notification reads, in part:
NOTICE OF VIOLATION: You are in violation of the following Montville Township Code, as you have put your solid waste out too early. All refuse receptacles placed along streets shall be removed by 11 p.m. of the same day that refuse has been collected. This notice of violation will serve as a formal warning. A future violation may result in a summons and/or fine.
Fell into a pothole on one of the roads in town? You can report it by calling the DPW at 973-331-3324 or by going to the township website, clicking on “Services” across the top of the screen, then scrolling down to “Report a Concern.” Note, you’ll need a login/account to do this. On a cell phone, go to the township website, click on the three lines in the upper left corner, choose services, report a concern, and sign in. Or you can use the Montville Township app – it has the “Citizen Request Tracker” and will track the pothole on the map for you.
Assistant Township Administrator June Hercek told TAPinto Montville that the Township Museum, located at 6 Taylortown Road, Montville, is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
No Holiday Recycling Pickup

As always, you can download the NotifyMe app to be emailed or text messaged as updates and information are issued by the township.

The concerts in the park Tuesday night series will start on July 10 with The Kootz. And of course there are lots of late spring and summer programs to sign up for, for all ages.
