BOONTON, NJ - Boonton Main Street, Inc. will be hosting First Friday Late Night: Go Red! for Women's Heart Health on Friday, February 5th, from 5-9 p.m. along Main Street in Boonton. Businesses will be open late on Main Street on February 5th, but the excitement started February 1st with BMS partner, the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA.

Event sponsor, Lakeland Hills Family YMCA will be handing out hearts for First Friday Late Night: Go Red! participants at their facility on Fanny Road from Monday, February 1 through Friday, February 5 to celebrate Go Red! Week at the Y. Many groups will be creating hearts at the Y including over 200 children in the Early Childhood Learning Center, over 75 teens in the Leaders Program and over 300 children in 7 elementary schools in 6 towns which have their Kids Club after-school program onsite. The goal of this collective group is to make over 1,000 hearts.

On Thursday, February 4, the Y will host a Member Appreciation Day, promoting the next day's event as part of the week-long celebration. On Friday, February 5, the Y will host a free community-wide class called Mindful Stretch, featuring gentle stretching and inspirational meditation. This leads to First Friday Late Night: Go Red! where participants will take their red hearts that evening and proceed along Main Street in Boonton.

Participating stores will affix a sticker to the heart. Once finished, attendees can use the heart as an entry for a free raffle drawing for a one-year membership for a child, adult or family to the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA.

"The Lakeland Hills Family YMCA is thrilled to help sponsor Go Red! with local and national partners Boonton Main Street, Saint Clare's Health System, and the American Heart Association," shares Rosemary Linder Day, Community Relations Director at the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA. "The Y is especially excited to partner with Boonton Main Street as this organization has breathed new life into the community and retail entities in Boonton. BMS' First Friday Late Nights have been hugely popular, and adding the health and fitness aspect to the mix allows our Y to highlight its expertise in this area."

There will be FREE blood pressure screenings at the Boonton Main Street headquarters (620 Main Street) until 9pm, along with a free inspirational Q & A session with Y instructor/trainer, Lisa Azzizzo.

Saint Clare's Health System and the American Heart Association are also participating in First Friday Late Night: Go Red! Saint Clare's Health System will be providing free stroke information during the event.

"Saint Clare's Health System is committed to providing the best quality care in each and every community we serve. We are very proud to be able to help sponsor Boonton Main Street's First Friday Late Night February: Go Red! event. We hope that with support and education everyone can build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke," shared Karen Harmen, Team Leader of Cardiology and Neurology at Saint Clare's Health System.

WDHA 105.5 - The Rock of New Jersey, will have their prize van at the Boonton Post Office during First Friday Late Night: Go Red! and will be giving away prizes to attendees.

Boonton Main Street, Inc. will be raffling off a chance to win an adult, family or children's membership to the Lakeland Hills YMCA even if participants do not have a red heart from the Y. An entry for a chance to win any of the memberships costs $5. Entries can be purchased at the Boonton Main Street, Inc. office.

Visitors to Boonton Main Street during First Friday Late Night are encouraged to share photos on social media using the hashtags #YGoRed #BoontonGoRed and #BoontonFF. For a full list of participating retailers, please visit www.BoontonMainStreet.org.
