MONTVILLE, NJ - Taylortown Road was closed for a period of time on Monday evening after an adult bicyclist was hit by a Jeep Renegade, according to Montville Township Police Capt. Andrew Caggiano.

Caggiano said the accident occurred around 7:45 p.m. on July 16 between Rt. 202 and West Lake Drive on Taylortown Road. The rider of the bicycle was injured and air lifted to Morristown Memorial Hospital. Caggiano said neither the name nor gender of the bicyclist was being released at this time and there was no update on their condition.

The accident is still under investigation and is being conducted by the Montville Township Police Department in conjunction with the Morrris County Sheriff’s Office, Caggiano said.
